SPIN-OFF: Tellus Srl

Tellus srl is a company founded by a team of agronomists and environmental scientists of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. Our interdisciplinary team is aimed to innovation transfer, agricultural extension and consulting in agriculture, bio-based productions and Life Cycle Assessment of food products and agro-industrial processes. Thus, Tellus is committed to providing support and advise to stakeholders of the agricultural sector (food and non-food industry, policy makers, farmers associations, individual farmers) in adopting sustainable innovation in agriculture and environmental impact assessment.

Services/products: 

Tellus operates at three different levels:

  1. At farm/company scale, Tellus supports individual or associated entrepreneurs in the adoption of sustainable and efficient practices, tools and models;
  2. At supply-chain scale, Tellus drives the stakeholders towards the adoption of innovative low-impact models, promoting a Life Cycle Thinking approach, based on the implementation of sustainable processes;
  3. At regional scale, Tellus addresses the stakeholders towards sustainable and conscious land and resource management. 

Tellus’ activity areas are the following: Life Cycle Assessment e evaluation of greenhouse gas emission of processes and products; multicriteria sustainability assessment; Precision farming and farm digitalization; Sustainable water management; Land suitability assessment; Marginal land restoration; Biomass and biorefineries; Knowledge transfer in agriculture and field trials; Networking; Professional training in agriculture.
