Optical device, integrated Bidirectional Optical Amplifier (BOA) for optical interconnects

Optical device usable in a WDM bidirectional optic communication circuit contemporaneously to amplify a first and a second grids of frequency interleaved optical signals propagating in opposite directions along said optic communication circuit; characterized by being integrated/integrable, and also miniaturized and by comprising optical amplification means provided with a signal optical amplification unit designed contemporaneously to amplify, in use, both optical signals associated with first grid and optical signals associated with second grid. The device is also characterized by sending the reflections and the spurious signals out of the optical circuit.
